Summary: BloodLink Pro is a free blood donor-matching platform. We collect only the minimum data needed to connect donors with patients. We never sell your data. Donor contact details are visible to users searching for blood — this is the core purpose of the platform.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly when you use BloodLink Pro:
- Account Information: Name, email address, password (hashed), mobile number, city
- Donor Profile: Blood group, availability status, last donation date, health status
- Emergency Requests: Patient name, blood group needed, hospital/location, contact number, urgency level
- Location Data: GPS coordinates (only when you grant permission) — used to show nearest donors
- Device Information: Browser type, screen resolution, timezone — used for analytics and device fingerprinting to prevent spam
We do not collect: Aadhaar number, PAN card, financial information, or any government ID.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used solely to operate the BloodLink Pro platform:
- Display your donor profile in search results so patients can find you
- Send emergency blood request notifications to matching donors
- Verify your account and prevent duplicate or fake registrations
- Show you relevant donors based on your city and blood group search
- Admin verification of donor profiles before they appear publicly
- Improve platform performance and fix bugs
- Send important service updates (not marketing emails)
Important: When you register as a donor, your name, blood group, city, and phone number will be visible to all users searching for blood donors. This is the core function of the platform. If you do not want your information visible, please do not register as a donor, or toggle your availability to "Not Available."
3. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.
We may share your information only in these limited cases:
- With other users: Donor profiles (name, blood group, city, phone) are visible to registered users searching for blood
- Emergency notifications: Your contact details may be shared with patients submitting emergency blood requests
- Service providers: We use JSONBin (data storage), EmailJS (email notifications), and Firebase (authentication) — all under their respective privacy policies
- Legal requirements: If required by Indian law or court order
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored using the following services:
- JSONBin.io: Donor and user data stored in encrypted JSON bins
- Firebase Firestore: (Future) Cloud database with Google-grade security
- Browser localStorage: Session data, preferences (dark mode, language) stored locally on your device
We implement reasonable security measures including:
- HTTPS encryption for all data transmission
- Password hashing (never stored in plain text)
- Admin-only access to sensitive operations
- Rate limiting on emergency requests to prevent abuse
- CAPTCHA verification on emergency forms
However, no internet transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
5. Your Rights & Choices
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data we hold
- Correction: Update your profile information via your account settings
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and donor profile by emailing us
- Availability Toggle: Set yourself as "Not Available" to hide from search results without deleting your account
- Opt-out: You can stop receiving notifications by contacting us

BloodLink Pro uses browser localStorage (not traditional cookies) to store:

You can clear this data anytime by clearing your browser's site data. This will log you out.
